Eau Claire Leader Telegram Jan. 13 1975 p 9 obituary extraction rewritten, abbreviated: resided 1913 Omaha St., Eau Claire, before living at Mt. Washington Home where he died. Member of First Lutheran Church, sexton of Saint John's cemetery in Eau Claire until age 90 when he retired. Came to the U.S. from Norway in 1904 and worked as a coal miner for 20 years.Married Ebba Tandberg of Rice Lake June 9 1926 in St. Paul, MN. Resided in Elk Mound until moving to Eau Claire in 1942. Survived by his wife, one brother Axel Windland, and his sister Mrs. Skova Berg, both of Norway, and several nieces and nephews.

He had worked for a time for his uncle Ole Kleven in Elk Mound, and also had his own business making cement blocks, worked for the Ordnance Plant during WW 2, and dug graves at 3 cemeteries.
