John Calvin "J. C." Spurlin was born on Friday, October 24th, 1890, in Floydada, Floyd County, Texas. He was the son of George Washington Spurlin and Charlotte H. Driskill.

He married Emma Lee Hyatt at Carl, Harmon County, Oklahoma, on February 10th, 1910. Other family relatives Cordelia "Cordie" Abbott and Mary Eloise Reeves.

He was an evangelist who preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. He labored for and with churches of Christ.

The picture posted on website with John Spurlin and his wife was actually his wife Emma Lee Hyatt Spurlin. She is the only wife he ever had. It is suggested that he was married to other wives, those other "wives" were not his "wives" but other family members.
Listed as his children one of his sons is missing from your list. Walter Kenneth Spurlin was their youngest son born on October 27, 1926.
