Local man, Aged 88, Dies at 3:30 in the After-noon Yesterday

John A, Burkey, 88 years old, died yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at his home, 1007 North Adams.

Surviving him are his widow of the home, three sons, Jake Burkey of Mt. Vernon, Wash. Artuhur (SP.) of Merino, Colo. Walter of Sapulpa and five daughters, Mrs. J. C. Edell of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Nellie Lotham of Maryville, Wash, Mrs. Mamie Moore of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Eva Lairmer and Mrs. Agnes Potter, both of Enid. He also leaves 41 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist church, 724 West Randolph, tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. The Rev. Jacob A. Wasenmiller will have charge of the service and burial will be in Enid Cemetery.

Until time for the funeral the body in being cared for by the Henninger Funeral Home

Note: the cemetery office has confirmed there is no marker on the grave.
