Edwin J. Quien, 80, a long time Aberdeen resident, died at his home Tuesday afternoon.

He was born Oct. 16, 1894, in Winneshiek County and moved to Minnesota in 1911. He later homesteaded near Hettinger, North Dakota and came to Washington in 1923.

For several years he operated the White Truck Service in Aberdeen and later worked as a mechanic for Grays Harbor County, working in Montesano and Cosmopolis. He retired in 1960.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Bishop Oday Fourth Degree Assembly and the American Federation Machinists Union.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, a son, four grandchildren, two sisters, three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church where the Fourth Degree will form an Honor Guard. Interment will follow at Fern Hill Cemetery.
