Vera Eleanor Hufford was born on January 10, 1903 in Perrysburg, Ohio to Henry and Nettie Hufford. She died in St. Lukes Hospital in Maumee, Ohio on Dec. 8, 1978. She was christened in Grace EUB Church in Perrysburg, Ohio. She graduated from Bowling Green Normal School in Bowling Green, Ohio in 1923 and taught in a one room school house after graduation. She also worked as a nanny for Gordon Mather. She married James H. Wiser in Columbus, Ohio on June 21, 1927. They had three children: James J. Wiser born July 19, 1928, Peggy Arlene Wiser Snyder born Aug. 13, 1935 and Nancy Ann Wiser Johnson born July 24, 1939. She was a member of the Toledo Weaver's Guild and had several looms and wove beautiful rugs, blankets, afgans, placemats, etc. She was a very talented lady and anything she attempted she did well. Several articles of her weaving were exhibited in the five largest museums in the United States.
