George W. Gullett was a native of Kent County, Delaware. He moved from Delaware to Maryland and then to Tennessee. He initially settled in Maury County, Tennessee. He served in the War of 1812. He moved from Maury County to Carroll County, in West Tennessee, between 1828 and 1830.
Dean Crosby, of Clarksville, Tennessee, a descendant, obtained a Veteran Affairs (VA) marker for George W. Gullett's grave. Dean set the stone in 2008.

The marker is located behind the church sanctuary in the old section of the cemetery.
