Lester Lincoln Blackford, 68, of 814 E. Ninth St., died of a stroke Wednesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after a long illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hammilton's Funeral Home, with burial in North River Cemetery north of Indianola.
Mr. Blackford, a retired machinery company welder, was born in Warren County and lived in Des Moines most of his life.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Adams of Los Gatos, Calif., and Mrs. Joyce Torrillo of Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Thelma Evenson, Mrs. Ellen Bentley and Mrs. Virginia Thomas, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Beverly Stivers of Altoona, and several grandchildren
