Gerald C. Bloom Sr. 55, of Hyde, PA. died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at his home.

Born May 31, 1948 in Clearfield, PA he was the son of Charles F. Bloom, Sr. and Vivian G. (Condon) Bloom.

He was a heavy truck operator for 23 years.

He was affiliated with the Cornerstone Church of Hyde. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #812, Houtzdale American Legion, Lawrence Township Fire Police, Hyde Volunteer Fire Department, Veterans of Vietnam War and Central County ABATE.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife Susan (Snedden) Bloom whom he married on March 14, 1992 in Hyde, PA.,his father Charles F. Bloom, Sr. of Curwensville, PA, seven children Michele L. Bloom and her companion Francis of Hyde, PA, Gerald C. Bloom,Jr.and his wife April of Houston, TX, Charles R. Bloom and his wife Sherri of Clearfield, Melanie D. Holliday and her companion John of Grove City, PA, Daniel A. Holliday and his wife Stacy of Curwensville, Donald R. Holliday and his companion Crystal Of Houston, TX, Kelley J. Mallon and her husband Matthew of Hyde. One sister Mildred Dixon of Corsicana, TX, two brothers Fred Bloom of Curwensville, and Bill Bloom of McKeesport, PA.
Also surviving are 14 Grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his mother and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield with Rev. Gary B. Bailey officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services. Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by members of the Clearfield American Legion and VFW Posts honor squad.

The F.O.E. Aerie #812 will conduct a Memorial Service Friday evening at 6:30 P.M. at the funeral home.

The family suggests that contributions be made to the Charity of donor's choice.
