Paul Walter Cornils, 73, Sturgeon Bay, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, in the arms of his loving wife Irene and with family by his side. He was called to rest after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born on Oct. 24, 1938, to the late Walter and Marcella (Weir) Cornils. He married the love of his life and best friend, Irene Gunnlaugsson on Dec. 13, 1969.

Paul will be sadly missed by his wife, Irene; three sons, Kerry (Diane) Carmody, De Pere; Jeffrey Cornils, Wausau; Joe (Donna) Cornils, Two Rivers; one daughter, Paula (Randy) Dvorak, Sturgeon Bay. He will be also missed by his ten grandchildren, Bryan and Lora Carmody, Leo, Alex, Derek, Dylan, and Nicole Cornils, Jordanne, Tanner, and Carson Dvorak. Paul is further survived by his siblings, Gladys Witak, Mary Jane Pond, Marlene (Ed) Bessler, JoAnn (Dale) Henry, Karen (Larry) Teesch, twins, Barbara (Wayne) Gallas and Constance (John) McNellis, James (Ramona) Cornils, Ricky (Roxanne) Cornils; brothers-in-law, Steven (Judy) Gunnlaugsson, Mark (Karla) Gunnlaugsson, Randy (Jane) Gunnlaugsson; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Ronnie) Kostka, Holly (Larry) Baumann. Paul is also survived by his beloved mother-in-law, Mildred Gunnlaugsson; and countless other friends and relatives. He will also be greatly missed by his cat, Nemo. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Cornils; father-in-law, Clifford Gunnlaugsson; brothers-in-law, Victor Witak, Don Machia and David Pond.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
