FLORENCE DAILY CITIZEN - FLORENCE, FREMONT COUNTY, COLORADO - APRIL 19, 1926

G. E. GABLE, LOCAL PIONEER, DIES OF A HEART ATTACK

G. E. Gable, 68, who had been a resident of Colorado for 30 years, suffered a heart attack at his home on west Main street shortly before 6 o'clock Sunday night and died instantly. Mrs. Gable was with him at the time and was administering to his relief when death came.
Mr. Gable had been afflicted with Bright's disease for several years and in February he suffered an attack of flu, which left him in a weakened condition with a bad heart.
Sunday afternoon he went to bed and apparently was in great distress. He became nauseated and while in the act of relieving this condition he suffered the heart attack which resulted in instant death. A physician was immediately summoned, but to no avail.
Mr. Gable came to Florence with his family 25 years ago. He was employed at the mills many years ago, later contracted carpenter work and was also employed for the city for some time. He spent some time in western Colorado, returning here about three years ago.
He was a native of Canada, where he was born September 29, 1857. Mr. Gable was a member of the Christian church. He was married June 22, 18890, to Miss Nettie Brooks and his second marriage too place September 25, 19209, to Mrs. Julia Williams of Florence.
He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Lula Sikes, of Florence; Mrs. Bertha Gardner, of Montana; Mrs. Myrtle Smith, of California, and one son, John Gable of Ely. Nev.
The body is at the Campbell chapel and the funeral will be announced as soon as word is received from the surviving children.
