He was raised, married and owned a home in Monroe County, Alabama. During their elderly years, Pink and his wife, Julia Victoria lived with their daughter Alma Castillow Robinson and her husband E W Robinson in McCullough, Escambia County, Alabama.

He was an avid walker, and walked about 2 miles every day.

On one of his walks, he died of a heart attack, they found him near McCullough School.

He raised sugar cane, and his grandchildren delighted in playing in the sugar cane field when they visited.

His daughter Alma, her husband E W, and their children would pile into the candy route truck, and off they went, with the children hanging out the back of the truck.

Upon arriving at their grandparents home, they headed for the sugar cane fields. Passing the time eating sugar cane, and playing.
