Daughter of John Lester Perkins and Irene Elizabeth Burnett. She was the sixth of eight children born to them. Her full maiden name was Marjorie Jeanne Angeline Perkins.

She served in the US Women's Army Corps (WACS) during WWII.

Her ashes were spread over the grave of her mother, Irene Perkins, buried in this cemetery, but there is currently no stone to mark her presence.

Graveside services for Marjorie Jeanne Angeline Perkins, 74, of Redland, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Walker Cemetery in Redland with Rev. Rick Sitton officiating.

Ms. Perkins was born August 21, 1922 in Redland, Angelina County and died July 8, 1997 in the VA Hospital in Houston.

Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, George Wesley and Jennifer Hawkins; one grandson and daughter-in-law; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Morris and Peggy; sisters, Shirley Cashion, Irene Welch; sister-in-law, Nelva Forsythe Perkins.
