From his obituary: Services for Phillip Earl Hausch, 74, of LeRoy Township, a retired toolroom supervisor, will be 11 am Monday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville.

He was a 39 year resident of LeRoy Township and a life long resident of Lake County, graduating from Harvey High School in the Class of 1941.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army for three years, 504th Triple "AAA" Gun Battalion, Battery "D". He served in the South Pacific and fought in the Liberation of the Phillippines. Mr. Hausch was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Willoughby Post 1500 and member of Sons of the American Revolution, Samuel Huntington Chapter. He was former LeRoy Township trustee, member of Lake County Township Trustees Association, associate member of Ohio Township Trustees Association, past chairman of LeRoy Township Zoning Commission, past member of LeRoy Township Firemens Dependency Board, charter member and past president of LeRoy Heritage Association, member and past steward of LeRoy Grange 1608 and past quartermaster and charter member of VFW LeRoy-Thompson Post 7939.

Mr. Hausch received the Diamond Shamrock "Community Citizen of the Year Award" for work on the restoration of the South LeRoy Meeting House and LeRoy Town Hall. Diamond Shamrock Jr. Achievement Advisor and many other community services.

He and his wife have been active community volunteers for many years. His hobbies were horseback riding, showing horses and community service.

Mr. Hausch was employed at Diamond Alkali and Diamond Shamrock Corp., Fairport Harbor, for more than 41 years.

Survivors are his wife, Geraldine (Fuller), whom he married June 18, 1949; daughter Tammy Brow of Fairport Harbor; son, Todd of Orwell.

His parents, Floyd E. and Mary (Mills) Hausch, are deceased.
