As the story goes grand father was a pony express rider, and one day he was ambushed, and grand father killed the bush wackers, i am assuming that was in kansas?, dont really know for sure were that was, this was before he was in the calvary.

He was a Private in the 2nd Calvary Army Unit, Company A, Kansas. Enlisted 9-10-1862, Discharged dis. 3-9-1865, at Little Rock, Ark Kansas, while in the calvary he was captured by indians, and grand father was good with horses so he won the trust of the indians, untill one day he got away, and then went back to the calvary that he was with, he also had he's horse shot out from under him and this crippled him on one leg, he spent three years in the calvary at the cilvil war error, and was discharged as disabled in little rock arkansas. I to am disabled on one leg i often wonder if there is such a thing as spirits from the past? Mine is from a car accident. Also grand father was a post master after the civil war in pontiac missouri, grand father was falsely accused of stealing a widow pinsion when he was postmaster thats why he spent the rest of his days behind bars, grandfather's story was that he and another man went to the widows house and took nessasary papers for her to sign and he didnt bring the ink well for they didnt have pens at that time, and they made and agreement that he could sign for the widow, and somehow was accused of the dead of stealing her widow checks, sounds perty fishy to me, probly a case of gealousy? We are not for sure were grand father is buried for when the inmates died alot were just throughn in a unmark grave, were starting to believe he is in the grave across the street at the prison?
