Frederick Dean Steiding was the 3rd born son of Earl Barnhardt and Marion Dixon (Peebles) Steiding.
He was born on Thursday February 10, 1916.
He had two older brothers John Batrie and Earl Price Steiding and a younger brother Richard Marsh Steiding.
Freddie was a Navy Veteran WW11 and served with the Naval Amphibious Forces in England. As a young man, he also modeled for Department Stores in Cumberland and Washington, DC. He was issued his SS# in Washington, DC.
He married Georgie Mary Dixon and they had one daughter Susan Dixon Steiding. Freddie was Vice President in charge of sales for the Cumberland Office Supply Company and a major stockholder. He was a member of the Deep Creek Yacht Club and Sailing Association of Garrett County, Md. since it started in 1937. He was a member of the Potomac Lodge 100-AF and AM; York Rite, Ali Ghan Temple, Ali Ghan Jesters, and Frostburg Elks. He died in his car like his brother John did. Freddie was driving alone on I 95 near the Baltimore Beltway, when he had a sudden heart attack.
He died December 1985 at the age of 69 years 10 months. His arrangements were handled by Hafer Funeral Home. His 3 brothers preceded him in death.
