Norma Jean was born Sherrell Ann Feliz, the biological daughter of Emilda Bernice Feliz and Stanley Martin Keck. Within a very short time Sherrell Ann was adopted and renamed by her loving parents William J "Bill" Kavaliunas and Dorthey Petrusick as Norma Jean Kavaliunas. Norma Jean finally met her biological mother when Norma was in her 50s, and found she had two half sisters, Sheila Jean and Sherry Lynn. At their meeting and during the following meetings they found many things in common, one being their methods of cooking.

Norma's two children brought her great joy and her grandchildren filled her heart with such love, a love that only another grandmother would understand!

Norma's legacy lives on, not only with her children and grandchildren but also in her early CA Hispanic research. Her Californio ancestors were Acevedo, Beltran, Butron, Canet, Carrillo, Espinosa, Esquer, Feliz, Higuera, Lugo, Munoz, Pinuelas, Redondo, Valencia, Villalobos, and Villavicencio, along with several California indigenous ancestors.

Services were held Wednesday, November 29th, 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Parish Church, 880 Tamarack Ave., San Carlos, CA 94070.

Her wish was to have her ashes spread at Morro Bay, CA. Hopefully her wish will be fulfilled.
