Helen attended local schools and graduated from high school at the age of 16. She attended NDAC (NDSU) and the University of Minnesota. She taught high school in New Prague and Bemidji, MN. She later attended NW Bible School in Minneapolis and N. Baptist Seminary in Chicago. She worked as a governess. She was Christian Education director in a church, women's activities director in a seminary and was a director of Child Evangelism Fellowship in Richmond, VA.
She came back to Perley in 1960 during her brother's illness. Her life was dedicated to evangelism and youth ministries.
Helen then moved to Moorhead, MN. After her father's death in 1964, her mother, Nellie, lived alone in her Perley home. When Nellie's health began to fail in 1967, she moved to Moorhead and lived with Helen. Helen took care of her mother and continued teaching religious release time school in Perley.
In 1991 Helen became a resident of The Evergreens in Moorhead and in 1995 she was a resident of Manor Care Heath Services in Fargo. She passed away 10 Jun 2001 in Fargo at the age of 91. Funeral services for her were held at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN 13 Jun 2001.
She was survived by her sister-in-law, Alace Katherine Miller and a nephew, Bruce D. Anderson and his two children, Heather and Joshua. Helen did not marry.
