Nancy Ann "Nan" Fisher, 75, was born on September 14, 1936, in Lincoln, NE, to the late William Ellenwood and Regina Schultz Ellenwood. She received an Associate of Arts from Tallahassee Community College, Bachelor of Science from Florida State University, and Master of Science from Nova University. Being an English teacher, she helped to further the education of many students at Cairo High School in their love of literature. Nan was a strong and wise woman who imparted her zest for learning and life to all of the students she taught as well as to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Nan loved to travel and read books. Nan was dedicated and in love with Arl, for 57 years. She was a woman who loved life and enjoyed their life together.

Survivors include: husband, Arley Charles Fisher; children and spouses, Heidi and Steve Balla, Frederick and Lynn Fisher, Kate and Robert Pulver, Ben Fisher; grandchildren and spouses, Arley and Shelley Fisher , Ariel Nancy Balla, Curt Andrew Balla, Nancy Fisher, Sarah Ann Fisher, Olivia Pulver, Chloe Pulver; great-grandchildren, Alex James Fisher and Christina Rainer; brother and sister-in-law, William Ellenwood, Sandra Kay Ellenwood (wife of Robert Ellenwood); and a sister, Ruth Ellenwood Simmons.

Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by: her parents, William and Regina Ellenwood; her son, Curt Andrew Fisher; and her brother, Robert Ellenwood.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
