Mitchell “Gerhard” Jacobs was born 30 Sep 1887 in Viding Township, Clay County, MN, the son of Barney and Carrie Jacobs. He was the youngest of their children and only son. His sisters were: Grethe birth unknown, died before 1940, Cornelia “Cecelia” born 1878, death unknown, Julia, March 1881-before 1964 (Julius O. Tendeland 14 Apr 1877-11 Nov 1957) and Josie, 1885 – 27 Nov 1946. He farmed with his father and continued to live with his mother, Carrie, in Ada, MN after the death of his father. After his mother’s death, Gerhard moved to Fargo, ND. He passed away there in November 1966. He did not marry.
