William C Sawyer was born on January 18, 1870 in Lake County Michigan to Nancy Ann Haner Sawyer and Horace Seymour Sawyer. He was their 3rd child of 8.

On September 18, 1875 he married Bertha Gallinger Sawyer. Daughter of Amos & Martha J Hoyne Gallinger. She died on January 6, 1907. They had 2 girls M. Josephine and Hazel. Both born in Michigan.

William's second wife was
E. Wilhelmina (Minnie)

Family Search Records for 1910 state the two girls and William and Wilhelmina (Minnie) were now living in Idaho. M. Josephine Sawyer age 14 and Hazel Sawyer age 11. William was 40 and Minnie was 38.

On May 16, 1917 M. Josephine Sawyer married Ludwig Peterson in Bonner, Idaho.

By the 1920 census William and Minnie were living alone.

On May 26, 1926 Hazel of Sandpoint County, Bonner, Idaho was married by a Catholic priest to Richard M Thomas from Bonners Ferry Boyndary County, Idaho. This marriage took place in the presence of M. Josephine and Ludwig Peterson.

In 1930 William and Minnie had taken in a 13 year old boarder named Jeanne Dilto.

In 1940 they were living alone just William and Minnie.

Williams occupation on his death certificate was a Barber and owner of his own shop for 35 years.

William belonged to B.P.O.E 1376

Some records list him as C William Sawyer and some list his middle initial as J. Some records list E Wilhelmina Sawyer as also Minnie E Sawyer.
