She was a former employee of American Viscose. Alva was a member of the Mountain Doer's Camping Club, worked as a poll worker in the elections and was a member of the First Baptist Church, St. Albans, where she was also a member of the Meadors Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ruth Anna Parsons and husband, Henry of Liberty, Jeane Campbell and husband, Frank of Marietta, Ga., and Tom Alderson and wife, Anne of Charleston; grandchildren, Melissa and Matthew Parsons, Kellie and Katie Campbell, Kristi and Kara Alderson.
Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with the Rev. Joel Harpold officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
