Monica Marie Hendricks, 79, died November 1, 2011 at her home in Sharon, KS. She was born June 13, 1932 in Barber County, near Sharon, KS, the daughter of Herbert and Monica (Boor) Landwehr. A lifetime resident of Sharon she was a Homemaker and Dairy Farmer. Monica obtained her GED after attending high school through the 10th grade. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Altar Society, and was instrumental in giving the gifts to the Parish School of Religion Classes and RCIA Candidates, and was a member of the NRA at the Golden Eagle Level. She was an avid Quilter and loved to sew and make Rosaries.

Monica married Victor N. Ricke, on April 26, 1949, he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1981. Monica was blessed to find love a second time, marrying Richard L. Hendricks on Sept. 8, 1984. They enjoyed 27 years of an extended honeymoon, Richard survives.

Other survivors include three sons, Robert (Diana) Ricke, Sharon, KS; Terry (Renee) Ricke, Medicine Lodge, KS; Jeff (Chris) Ricke, LeDuc, Alberta, Canada; six daughters, Vicky Smith, Arlington, TX; Alice (Bob) Headley, Wellington, KS; Helen (Jim) Ortiz, Houston, TX; Janet (Richard) Lewis, Midland, TX; Barbra Ricke, Derby, KS; Annette Wallace, Wichita, KS; two step-sons, Dewayne (Sherron) Hendricks, Piedmont, OK; and Lonnie Hendricks, Alva, OK; a step-daughter, Susan Hendricks, Alva, OK; four sisters Pat (Ron) Adelhardt, Partridge, KS; Theresa (Richard) Smith, Walnut Grove, MO; Louise (Ted) Martin, Garden Plain, KS; and Eunice (John) Hansard, Wichita, KS; a brother Herbie (Vonda) Landwehr, Sharon, KS; two brothers-in- law Bob Shogrin, Garden City, KS; and Lester Leis, Sharon, KS; 46 Grandchildren, and 57 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Billy Joe, one step-daughter, Wanda Reed and three sisters, Cecilia Landwehr, Aggie Shogrin, and Rose Leis.

Vigil Service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2011 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sharon, KS.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2011 at the church with Fr. Firmin Kyaw presiding.

Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Parish School of Religion in care of Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge, KS.
