He attended Southeast Missouri State College. On Jan 28, 1928 he signed a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals . As a catcher he played class B ball and later semi-pro. He worked for Frocum-James co. Dyersburg, Tn.In 1937 he was appointed inspector and resident engineer for the U. S. Army Corp of Eng.From 1943 to 1945 he was in charge of regimental engineers for the 130th Engineers in which he enlisted. In 1948 he went to Kearns, Utah to lay out that town. He was active in the Kearns community. Charter member of Kearns Lion Club and Walker Neal Snyder Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9320. He was a member of the board of directors of the America Little League in Kearns and managed one of the teams. He resigned his position as manager of Kearns Utilies. He retired in McClure , Ill.He was the brother of Jewell Sams Mundell, and Margaret Lucille Sams Vick.
