CEDAR FALLS--Mildred M. Temple, 99, of the Western Home and formerly of 216 Colorado Road, died Friday, Oct, 2 at The Western Home Martin Center of natural causes.
She was born Jan. 18, 1899 in Fayette County, the daughter of William Edward and Adel May Watenpaugh Donat. She married the Rev. Herbert DePear Temple June 9, 1921 in Fayette County. He died Oct. 30, 1980.
She received a bachelor's degree in 1921 from Upper Iowa College in Fayette.
Survived by: a son, Philip Andrew Temple of Irving, Texas; three daughters, Lois Temple Hansen of Cedar Falls, Ruth Temple Kirkman of Wilmington, Del. and Miriam Temple of Urbandale; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: two brothers, Marion Donat and Wayne Donat.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 4 to 6 p.m.
Memorials: to the church or The Western Home.
