The exact date of Rob's death is unknown; he died in either 1907 or 1908, probably in the fall. He was working with a threshing machine in the field; the belt broke and the flywheel hit him in the head and killed him instantly. He is buried in the same cemetery as his parents, commonly called the Old Bluff cemetery. Rob had a stone, but it tipped over and was set against the fence, and is no longer there.
