Lawrence I. Demuth was born on September 15, 1815, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the son of Jacob Demuth and Catherine Medford. On May 14, 1849, he married to Antoinette F. Geisse, daughter of F. William Geisse and Eliza W. Ginder. Both had a daughter named Ella Therese Demuth. Lawrence passed away on October 23, 1874, and was orginally buried at Monument Cemetery, and later on October 10, 1884, his grave was transfered to Laurel Hill Cemetery at Section Z, Lot 111.
