Jim Croushorn was a son of Wm. Frederick Croushorn and Mary Catherine Switzer Croushorn, also buried at Salem Lutheran Ch. Cemetery. He was a general farmer who lived much of his life near Mt. Sidney and then moved to Catlett in Fauquier County, Virginia, about 1916. His first wife, Mary Craun, died of complications of childbirth in 1898, leaving one daughter Sadie. The second child died. His second wife Alice B. Swartz had three sons and one daughter who all lived in Fauquier or Prince William Counties, rather than Augusta like Sadie Croushorn Byers. After Alice died in 1923 of diabetes, Jim did not marry again until all the children were grown. Then he married Lucy who died in 1949. All three wives, the one dead infant daughter, and Jim Croushorn are all buried together. Jim left many grandchildren and has many descendants. He was known for being a talker, a good farmer, a man of integrity, and for being a devout Christian man.
