Ernest Clyde Evans, 48, of 209 Honeysuckle Lane, husband of Debbie Evans, died Wednesday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington.

A native of Madison County, he was the son of Blanche Pendegrass Evans and the late Clyde Evans. He was a contractor and a member and deacon of Calvary Christian Church. He was an assistant coach of the George Rogers Clark High School baseball team, a member of the board of directors for the Winchester Little League Association and a member of the GWRRA Riders, Mt. Sterling.

Additional survivors include a son, Ernie Clyde Evans, Winchester; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Matt Hilliard, Winchester; a grandson, Carson Matthew Hilliard, Winchester; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Tamara Evans, Lexington; Karen and Ronnie Goocey, Lexington, and Vonda Jackson, Nicholasville, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Christian Church, 15 Redwing Drive, by Dale Adams. Burial will be in Pendegrass Cemetery, Owsley County.

Pallbearers will be Terry Evans, Dean Noe, Omer Noe, Gary Joe Evans, Ronnie Goocey, Bill Harp, Kenny Hunahoo and Darrell Evans; honorary, Dr. Scott Baker, Verne Mohr, deacons and elders of Calvary Christian Church, GRCHS baseball coaches and players and the GWRRA Riders.
