Earl Frantz, 83, of 7741 E. county road 800 S., Lafayette, was dead on arrival at 3 p.m. Sunday at Home Hospital. A native of Tippecanoe county, Mr. Frantz was a retired farmer. In 1914 he was married in Clinton county to Alta B. Farber, who survives. He was a member of Stockwell United Methodist church and Lauramie township Farm Bureau. Surviving with the wife are five sons, Jay Frantz of Muncie, Donald Frantz of Warsaw, Robert Frantz of Remington, Gerald Frantz of Indianapolis and Norman Frantz of Stockwell; one daughter, Mrs. James (Doris) McCord of Rt.7, Frankfort; and a brother, John Frantz of Lafayette. Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Funeral Home, Stockwell. The body will lie in state one hour in Stockwell United Methodist church prior to service there at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Rev. Kenneth Hostettler officiating. Interment Johnson Cemetery, Stockwell. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Burton and two great-grandchildren.
