MARION - Robert Russell Baine, 73, died Sunday in a Florence hospital.
Born in Marion [now Dillon] County, he was a son of the late William and Willie Baine. He was living in Florence after retiring from Coastal Distributing Co. of Marion. He was a Woodman of the World.
Surviving are his widow, Ethel Campbell Baine; four daughters, Mrs. L. C. Hewitt, Mrs. Boyd Atkinson and Mrs. Edwin Brown of Marion, and Mrs. Curtis Doggette of Florence; four sons, Robert Baine Jr. of Columbia, Bascom W. Baine of Winston-Salem, N.C., Gerald Baine of Goldsboro, N.C. and Richard Baine of Raleigh, N.C.; 26 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Marion with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
