Adam Carey McCoy Polk, 18, of Beaufort died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Copeland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Baptist Church of Beaufort. Burial will be in Beaufort Memorial Gardens.

He was born March 28, 1988, in Savannah, a son of Susan Shea Polk and J. David Polk.

He was a member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort and attended Beaufort Academy and Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Ga. He graduated in 2006 from Beaufort High School, where he excelled in many sports. He formerly played baseball at Beaufort Academy and was a member of the Beaufort Trap and Skeet Club. He was employed at LT's Home Cooked Meals restaurant.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Peyton Anslee Polk of Beaufort; maternal grandparents, Rosellen Sims and Judge Thomas Scoggins of Ridgeland; and paternal grandparents, John D. and Florence Polk of Beaufort.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sydney Shea Polk.
