CHILHOWIE, /a. Mattie Helen Troxell, age 86, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4,. 2011, in the Valley Health Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Taylor Pugh and Annie Steel; and her former husband, William Neal Troxell.

She is survived by one son, Carl B. Troxell, Chilhowie; two daughters, Charlotte Mason and husband, Ed, Chilhowie, Peggy Jo Keith, Chilhowie; two brothers, Curtis Frank Pugh, Sugar Grove, Va., Joe Pugh, Grant, Va.; one sister, Maxie Louise Alverson, Huntsville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a daughter-inlaw, Sandra Lee Hart; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog and
companion, Susie.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Luther Roberts officiating.

Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie.
