Allen Davis Woodhouse

1937 ~ 2011

On November 8, 2011 Allen Woodhouse slipped the surly bonds of earth, put out his hand, and touched the face of God.

Allen was born January 1, 1937 to Thomas Ralph and Mary Woodhouse. He married the love of his life, Clara Jane Peterson, on July 1, 1955. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage with their children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Allen lived a life of service and leaves a strong legacy of love and hope. He served as Bishop and many other callings in the LDS church. He also worked for many years for the people of Salem as Mayor and councilman. Together with his brothers, he owned and operated Spanish Fork Flying Service. Because he was an avid photographer, his cherished memories will remain with us.

Allen is survived by his wife Clara Jane and children LeAnn Woodhouse, Melinda and Korey McGee, Sara Woodhouse and Jennilyn and Corey Draper. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Allen's sister Carol Canfield and brothers Ralph, Jr, Joe and Linda, Ted and Marceille, Tom and Judy and Rex and Janice also survive him.

Services will be held on Saturday November 12, 2011 at 11 am at the Salem West Stake Center at 695 South 300 West in Salem. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday the 11th at Walker Mortuary in Spanish Fork and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the Salem West Stake Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Salem City youth programs or Salem Library will be appreciated.
