Research technician. He was the son of Paul McKinley Trembley and Nola I Betz. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina. He retired as a research technician with Monsanto Company and lived in Chapel Hill for many years. For 35 years he was a Scoutmaster of both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. In 2009 more than 75 Scouts returned for a reunion to honor him. He received the Boy Scouts' Silver Beaver Award and the Order of the Arrow. In WWII he was a pilot in the Army Air Force, receiving the Bronze Star, among other medals. He was married to Annie Sue French.
