Olga J. (Rocco) Scionti, 83, of Middletown, wife of the late Angelo R. Scionti, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Britain, daughter of the late Bartolo and Lena Rocco (Scirica). She was predeceased by two brothers, Santo and Joseph Rocco. Olga grew up in New Britain and later moved to Middletown, where she and Angelo raised their family. Olga was employed by the Meriden Record Journal and Bond Press in Hartford where she retired. Olga was a member of the IACO Auxiliary and the Elks Emblem Club.
In her passing, she leaves three children, Richard (Bruce) Scionti, of Los Angeles, Susan Scionti, of Higganum, and Cheryl (Scionti) Turro and husband, Jeff, of Middletown. She also leaves behind her loving companion of 17 years, Edward Dlugolenski, (Mr. D), of Cromwell. Olga has two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Talia Turro. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and kept her going through her many illnesses over the years. Olga also leaves behind her youngest brother, Bartolo Rocco Jr., of Providence, R.I., two sister-in-laws and several nieces and nephews.
Olga was well known for her quick wit and sense of humor. Olga loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, working on crossword puzzles, reading, traveling and the casino.
