Michael L. Johnson was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on June 4, 1948 with his twin sister, Linda. In 1950, they were blessed to become the children of Judy and Ernie Johnson who resided in Sioux Falls. Mike attended school in Sioux Falls, graduating from Washington High School in 1967. He joined the navy on January 4, 1968 and served on the U.S.S. Pluck during the Vietnam War, and was honorably discharged on August 12, 1969 in Long Beach, CA. Later he participated in a Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, and he rode with the Patriot Guard Riders to honor veterans who had passed away. Mike was a life-long member of Wesley Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. He worked as a butcher in Deadwood, South Dakota, and later as a security guard in Sioux Falls. He is survived by his twin sister, Linda, brother-in-law, Guy Varud, niece, Michelle Nestegard, nephew, Kirk Varud, three grand nieces, Julia Ann Welding, Emily Welding, Christine Nestegard, one grand nephew, Carson Helmer, and one great grand nephew, Logan Welding. He is also survived by his blood brother Keith Moulton and his wife, Connie, of Argyle, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judy and Ernie. Also preceded by his blood sister, Kathy, and two blood brothers, Ken and Tom. Mike enjoyed family get-togethers at Aunt Neva's cabin on Lake Madison and visits to his parents' winter home in Mesa, Arizona.
