Minnie "Laura Fowler, age 82, of Roseburg, OR, passed away, January 25, 1997 in a Roseburg Hospital. She was born August 28, 1914 in Danville, AR to Perry Sr. and Lessie (Hunt) James. On September 11, 1932 she married Granville Fred Fowler. They came to Oregon in 1953 and moved to Lookingglass where they raised their children. She was a retired cook, having worked at the Northside Cafe, Harris Cafe and Peck's Place, among others. She loved quilting, canning, her garden and cooking for her family and their friends. She also loved any family outting and trip, whether to the coast sands, mountains, the Rogue River, ocean, Pendleton or Reno.

Survivors include her children Lucille Wolverton and her husband, Oren of Alabama, Jessie Fowler and wife Barbara of Roseburg, Or, Charles Fowler of Portland, OR, Jerry Fowler and wife June, Carolyn Meredith and husband, Floyd, Rick Fowler all of Roseburg, OR and Robert Fowler and wife, Diane (DeeDee) of Dillard, OR; grandchildren, Terri Lauzen and husband Mike of Washington, Bobbi Cardiff and husband Bill of Salem, OR, Wayne Fowler and wife Sue, Sherri Davis and husband, Jeff, Donna Roberts and husband, Reggie, John Fowler and wife Kristi, Traci Meyer and husband Tommy all of Roseburg, OR, Darrell Wolverton of Alabama and Brad Fowler of Tenmile, OR; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Sadie Fowler of Danville, AR; brothers, Lynn, Cecil and Gene James all of Danville, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Virgil, Jesse, Doyle, and-Perry Jr. and a grandson, Randy Beville.
