Mrs. Ellen M. Hill passed away Monday at her home on Prospect Street at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and five days. She was born May 5, 1982 in Salem, NY, daughter of David and Isabell (Rea) Creighton. Mrs. Hill had lived in Franklin for 20 years moving here from White River Junction, VT. She was the wife of William Hill.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Adams and Mrs. Ella Taylor, and by a son, David Hill of Belmont. Mrs. Hill had been ill with heart trouble for six months.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, the W.R.C. and W.C.T.U.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the home, Rev. L. E. Alexander officiating.
* Buried in an unmarked grave with Ellen is her granddaughter, Eva Mae Taylor. She was the daughter of Joseph Taylor and Ella (Hill) Taylor, born 12/10/1922 and died 06/05/1940. Obituary: Journal Transcript, 06/06/1940. Besides her mother, Miss Taylor is survived by two sisters, Lucille M., and Pearl L. Taylor; an aunt Mrs. Pearl Adams of Concord; an uncle, David Hill of Bellows Falls, VT; several cousins. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church. H.L. Young & Company is in charge of the arrangements.
