He taught school and coached all his professional life in Iowa school systems, retiring from Waterloo schools in 1975. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Arnold's Park; and a member of the Mason Lodge in Cedar Falls; and a Senior Advocate in the Lakes area. Interment in Garfield Cemetery.
