Mrs. Walker Dies
Member of Old Family Near Culver, Long Salina Resident
Mrs. Lydia Estella Walker, 61 a resident nearly all her life of the Culver vicinity and in later years, a resident of Salina, died at 3:15 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home in this city, west end of Morrison Avenue. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon, a short service being held at 2:30 at the home, and a public service at 3 o'clock at the United Brethren church, Interment will be in Gypsum Hill cemetery. Mrs. Walker had made her home in this city for the past 22 years. The husband, Harry A Walker, survives with the mother, Mrs. J. M. Austin who lives in Culver. Sons and daughters are Ethan A. Walker and Harry Walker, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Lawrence Earl Walker of Lawrence; Mrs. Emma Olsen of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Lelah Jewell of Salina and Mrs. Estella Shipe, of Junction City. There are several brothers and sisters, including Robert and Lloyd Austin of Culver; Ralph Austin of Collier; Ray Austin of McPherson; Norval Austin, Blue Rapids, George Austin, Culver; Mrs. Pete Shank, Salina; Mrs. O. C. Kaatz, Burr, Neb., and Mrs. E. Heywood, Bennington. Members of a family which is one of the oldest in the Culver community and a large one, Mrs. Walker was known to all older residents of that section of the county. She was a member of the United Brethren church.
