Deacon Amariah Bigelow, age 58 years, died 8 March 1780 at Shrewbury, Massachusetts [Shrewsbury D/R] Massachusetts transcriptions indicate death occurred in Boylston, however, he was listed in the Shrewsbury D/R, not in the deaths of Boylston. [Massachusetts V/R transcription] The place of death was probably Shrewsbury 2d Precinct, which became incorporated as Boylston in 1786. During the years preceding it's incorporation from 1742-1786, Boylston was known as the 2d Precinct or the North Parish of Shrewsbury. Deacon Amariah Bigelow had served on the North Parish board for 6 years and was the Town Clerk from the North Parish. He was considered one of the Settlers of the North Precinct, now Boylston.
