Arlene H. Keating, formerly of Spring Creek, NV, passed away at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital at the age of 81. She was born on a farm near Bode, IA. Arlene received her education at the Maple Lawn School and graduated from the Bode High School in 1939. During World War II, she moved to California where she was employed by Sherwin-Williams, Cal-Ink and Flecto until her retirement. She married Lloyd Silva and the couple made their home at El Cerrito, CA. Mr. Silva passed away in 1960 and she later married Albert Keating. They continued to maintain their home in California until moving to Spring Creek, NV in 1985. When Mr. Keating passed away in February of 2000, then she made Humboldt, IA her home in April of 2003. She is survived by her sister, Blanche Christianson of Humboldt; sister-in-Law, Bernice Gunderson of Fort Dodge; and many nieces and nephews, including Myrna Marso of Dakota City and Norma Fuller of Clive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mads and Hannah Jacobson Gunderson; husbands, Lloyd Silva and Albert Keating; brothers, Gilbert, Chester, Clarence, Rusty and Harlan Gunderson; and sisters, Josephine Sween, Millie Olson, Lois DeGroote and Muriel Kulberg.
