Dexter Lee Beckwith, 65, Topeka, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at his home. He was born Feb. 23, 1938, at Topeka, the son of Paul Beckwith and Jenny Martin Beckwith. Mr. Beckwith worked for Topeka State Hospital for 25 years before retiring. He served in the U.S. Army before the Korean Conflict. He married Marvel Arre on Sept. 9, 1959, in Topeka. She survives. Survivors also include a daughter, Sharron Ganio, Topeka; two brothers, Harold Beckwith, Topeka, and James Beckwith, Oklahoma; a sister, Mina Sherritts, Liberal; and one granddaughter, Tanya L. Beckwith, Topeka. Mr. Beckwith was cremated. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Colmery-ONeil VA Medical Center chapel. Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
