Ruth Faye Pinkerton, 88, of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Jeff Taylor. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visistation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Ruth was born on July 20, 1923 in Abilene, Texas to the late Edwin and Ollie Mae Patterson. She moved to the Liberty Community in 1926 from Abilene. She the moved to Halfway in 1936. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1940 and the attended Lipperts Business College. She married Robert Samuel Pinkerton on April 6, 1945. They moved back and forth from Plainview to Halfway before settling in Plainview in 1973. She was a bookkeeper for Halfway Farm Chemicals for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Harmony Class, Iva Wheeler Circle, DAVA #141, American Legion #260, Life Member of W.S.C.S., R.S.V.P., and Hi Plains Genealogy Society. She was also a former member of the Home Demonstration Club of Halfway, Den Mother of Cub Scouts, and 4-H Club Leader.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Samuel Pinkerton, Sr.; a son, Robert Samuel "Sammy" Pinkerton, Jr.; and her parents and a brother, Billy Patterson.

She is survived by a son, Charles Fain Pinkerton of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter-in-law, Maria Pinkerton of Florida; six grandchildren, Heath (MaryAnn) Pinkerton, Shelley (Jonathan) Kile, Steven Pinkerton, Richard (Latesha) Pinkerton, Chance Pinkerton, Garrett Drum; eight great-grandchilren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church or favorite charity.
