Funeral services for Mrs. Mary C. Shade, 95, of Palmyra were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 8, 1976 in Lewis Brothers Chapel with the Rev. Virgil O. Graves officiating. Burial was in Little Union Cemetery.
Casket Bearers were Joe Colvin, Kim Shade, Steve Shade, Henry Shade, and Dennis Thornburg.
Mrs. Shade died at 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 1976 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Hannibal.
A daughter of Henry and Henrietta Krull, she was born on March 16, 1881 in Marion County. She was marries at Palmyra on April 4, 1899 to George Shade, Sr. He died in 1966.
Mrs. Shade was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Eddie, Lawrence and George Shade of Palmyra and Earl Shade of Riverside, Calif., three daughters, Mrs. Della Geiger of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Alma Marshall of St. Louis and Mrs. Chrystal Thornburg of Palmyra, 41 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
