Sarah Ann Gassaway was the daughter of William Baldwin. Her mother is unknown. Her step-mother, Mary Jane "McDonald" Baldwin is buried in the Fellowship Cemetery Memorial #25355440.

Sarah Ann's father had 10 children from his marriage to Mary Jane McDonald, and two of their infant children are buried in the Fellowship Cemetery (James T. Baldwin born June 9, 1860 and an unnamed infant son born and died September 12, 1871.)

Sarah Ann married William Jackson Gassaway on March 3, 1875 in Lee County, Mississippi (Book 3, Pg. 199, Lee Co., Courthouse, Tupelo Mississippi). They were married by Rev. Alfred W. Sandlin, brother-in-law of Sarah's step-mother, Mary Jane "McDonald" Baldwin.

William and Sarah Ann had three children: Idella, James William, and Mary E. before Sarah Ann's death on February 3, 1881.

William Jackson Gassaway married 2nd Lola Ann Jarvis December 28, 1881 in Lee Co., Mississippi. William Jackson and Lola Ann Gassaway are buried in the Monroe Cemetery, Leflore Co., Oklahoma.
