John was born in St. Rose, Ohio on Jan. 1, 1932 to the late John J. and Gertrude (Hagadorn) Fiely. John married Alice E. (Backs) Fiely on Dec. 1, 1951, and she survives him.

John was employed by the Dana Corporation for 32 years and DeVoe Chevrolet and Southworth Ford as a car salesman. In his later years he worked as a counselor with Estates of Serenity where he was the book and records keeper. It was a great joy for John to work with the community.

John was a great sports fan and a football star of St. Johns in Maria Stein, Ohio, where he graduated in 1950. John was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Holy Family Rosary Group, Church Choir, Summit City Chorus of Ft. Wayne, Marion Sons of Harmony and the Elks of Dunkirk. He also was a member of S.A.L in Van Buren, and his hobbies include karaoke, crossword puzzles, bowling, golfing and fishing.

In addition to his wife Alice, John is survived by his children, Patricia "Patty" (John) Goble, John "Jack" (Judy) Fiely, Karen Lindamood, Kevin (Terry) Fiely and Susan (Randy) Herring; 15 grandchildren, John (Cindy) Goble, James (Sharon) Goble, Jeremy (Amanda) Goble, John Eric Fiely, Laura Fiely, Andrew Lindamood, Kevin Lindamood, Chad Underwood, Joseph Fiely, Jamie (Calvin) Kung, Andrea (Mike) Ferguson, Chad Herring, Tad Herring, Whitney (Jon) Castor, and Chelsey Herring; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Fiely; and his dog, Gracie.

John was the last surviving member of his immediate family and was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
