Mr. Reece was a WWII Army veteran, having served in France, Belgium and Germany. He was the recipient of two Bronze Star Medals, the Victory Medal of WWII, and the Army Occupation Medal of Germany.
In 1997, Mr. Reece retired from Burlington Industries as a loom fixer mechanic and trainer, after 50 years of service.
He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ellen McKee Reece; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul Keith and Brenda Reece, Jonesborough; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Louise Reece, Trentwoods, NC; one sister, Peggy Bentley, Costa Mesa, CA; one granddaughter and husband, Angela and Adam Shelton, Jonesborough; several nieces, nephrews, friends and extended family members.
