Franklin "Corky", age 60, was the son of Franklin and Florence (Aldrich) Hudkins. He married Lorene Coakley on June 3, 1957, in Angola, Indiana.
An Army veteran of World War II, he served from 1943 to 1945 with Company G., Second Batallion, 473rd infantry, in the European-African-Middleastern Campaigns. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
He moved to Monroe from Bryan, Ohio, in 1928, and was a graduate of Monroe High School, and attended the University of West Virginia. He was employed by Monroe Auto Equipment for 36 years, and then self employed with Michigan Mobile TV.
Franklin was the father of David, Timothy, Michael, and Rick; and Connie and Kim; the brother of George and Ronald, both of Monroe; and two sisters, Lila and Margie.
