Kenneth Durham, 78, of 203 Coakley Street in Campbellsville, son of the late Mr. George Henry Durham and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Bell Durham, died at 3:40 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 21, 1980, at the Taylor County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past 11 days. He was a member of the Saloma Baptist Church. He helped found the Saloma Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and a former employee of Tennessee Gas Transmissions Co. He retired from the Campbellsville Police Department in 1977 after 20 years' service. He united in marriage to Miss Frances (Tipp) Gupton December 16, 1924. She preceded him in death October 25, 1955. He reunited in marriage to Mrs. Mae Osborne Davis September 25, 1962. One son, James Durham, preceded his father in death in infancy. Besides his wife, Mrs. Mae Osborne Durham of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Mr. Charles Durham of Campbellsville; and six daughters, Mrs. Mildred Peters, Mrs. Barbara Cox, and Mrs. Pat Glidewell, all of Campbellsville, Mrs. Elenoria Light of Winchester, Tennessee, Mrs. LaVerne Hartfield of New Concord, Ohio, and Mrs. Betty Keene of Alachua, Florida. He is also survived by seven step-children; twenty grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Chapel by Rev. Charlie McNeil, Rev. James Fox, and Rev. J. V. Mullen. Burial was in Saloma Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brent Jones, James Walters, Murrell Thornton, Carl Dobson, Don Patterson, Kenneth Adams, Sam Harden and Hershel Moore. Honorary pallbearers were John Smothers, J. T. Rafferty, Charles Porter, Eddie Franklin, David Wilson, Albert Holtzclaw and Randy Bricken.
